So how did this idea begin?
Well they say that tiny sparks start big fires and that self care spark just kept relighting in my mind amongst the haze of life with a newborn. Like one of those candles that you just can't blow out on a birthday cake that keeps spontaneously relighting but adds to the excitement of the cake and the joy.
I had the idea quietly bubbling away since having my second baby. I wanted to make something for myself beyond being a milkmaid and a mama (as much as I love it). I felt I could start something awesome and bright and fulfilling. Good for me and good for connecting other mamas and wonder women who want, scrap that; deserve time for themselves. People who have someone else depend on them and who are often the glue of a family, of a business, of friendships. What happens when that glue feels a little unstuck? For me taking time out for myself has been the key to a balance of family life.
Remembering and reigniting the spark of who I am and what I enjoy.
Thinking of events that are gorgeously indulgent has been my favourite part of this journey so far. As my instagram started with foodie adventures of @hungrynorthernmamas quite a few of the events will involve locations with a foodie twist. I also want to focus on uplifting workshops like styling sessions for mamas to mingle and feel fabulous.
My aim for Nourish Northern Mamas is for women to feed their soul and find their tribe.
Watch this space and have a look out on @nourishnorthernmamas for announcements of inspiring and fabulous events for you to find your true North again.
